Following an article on the BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47620228) we thought it a great opportunity to let you know about the work we are doing behind the scenes to ensure we are leaders in our industry when it comes to laundry innovation.

As part of our drive to become greener and more environmentally sustainable we have been doing all we can to reduce our carbon footprint and also our reliance on water – one of the most precious resources especially when running commercial laundries!
In recent years we have lucky enough to have been shown around some new and innovative commercial laundries by our machinery suppliers and given various demos and talks on current and future innovation within the laundry industry.

During these open discussions we were introduced to state of the art Ozone Technology.
Ozone uses revolutionary technology that was designed for NASA and is now harnessed to apply to the laundry industry and it is delivering some incredible results!
Using unique Ozone Technology, the process of laundering towels is 3000 times faster at destroying bacteria than existing chemicals and without the odour or the need to have several rewashes.
Following on from the above tours we have been working closely with our Ozone partner at all our Commercial Laundries and trailing the new technology.
We are delighted to say that results during the trials were incredible and we are now using Ozone Technology in all our Commercial Laundries which can only be good for our customers as well the environment.
Using Ozone Technology, the need for rewashing gets dramatically cut down as the cutting edge technology produces washes that are more efficient than ever before.
Ozone uses less chemicals which means that the actual fibres in the towels being washed take less of a beating and stay stronger for longer.
The Ozone used during the wash process opens up the fibres of the towels to give them a soft, comfortable feel. Ozone is also a powerful disinfectant, eliminating 99.999% of bacteria, viruses, yeasts, norovirus, athlete’s foot and moulds to ensure that we always deliver fresh and clinically clean laundry.
Ozone is 150% more powerful disinfectant than chlorine killing all bacteria’s known to man!
Conventional laundries put such a strain on the materials being washed with each one turning out differently when it comes to whiteness.
Ozone just has one outcome – brilliant white!
Due to the lack of harmful chemicals, water and heat, the results are far more uniform than ever before, giving us all brilliant white towels each time.

Ultimately we believe we can eventually start to recycle some of the water we currently rinse down the drain as the Ozone actually ensures the water we throw away is as clean as the water coming into the laundry.
This along with a project to reuse some of the heat we waste from the dryers means exciting times ahead.
